The Prosperity Game

Before I get into the meat of all this, I must first say that this is not my game. It's something I found in one of my favorite books, "Ask & It Is Given", by Esther & Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham). I've read this book a few times before, and each time I do, I find something new. Funny how that works. Anyway, I'm stating my little "disclaimer" here, so nobody gets the idea that I'm some kind of motivational genius. (HA!)

So, there's this game; it's called the Prosperity Game because it's meant to be FUN. Abraham is good like that. They're all about lightening up & enjoying Life, as opposed to the hard core grind that many teach. I'm not all that crazy about grinds, but being the consummate child, I love games. Board games. Puzzles. Foos Ball, Ping Pong, you name it. If it's going to be fun, you can count me in. The Prosperity Game is all about letting go of our limiting beliefs, and all the old tapes that run through our heads about lack, and move us into a place of expectancy. Into a place of really feeling what it's like to have no limits to monetary resources. Kind of like pretending to be Oprah. Have you ever imagined what it might be like to have so much money you didn't have to even think about it? Yea. Me neither. Til now.

The game goes like this:

You create a bank account. You can use checks from an account that no longer exists or do what I did and create your own checks (that was fun too!). Make them look as close to real as you can, complete with your name & other info in the top left corner, and the name of your "bank" in the bottom left corner. I used :

Universal Bank Unlimited
2009 Galaxy Road
Abundance, USA 20099

But it doesn't matter about all that. Just so long as it looks like a real check. You'll also need a check register (your bank will give you those free of charge) to record your deposits & your spendings. Once you've got those, you're ready to play.

On day one, you deposit $1000. On that same day, you spend it. Now, there are really no rules with this, but they suggest that you spend as much of the money you deposit each day as you can. I know you're probably thinking, "Gee. I could spend $1000 in a heart beat." Yep. Me too. But tomorrow, (on day 2), you're going to deposit $2000. On day 3, $3000. And so on. If you play this for a year, on the last day of that year, you'll be depositing $365,000. In all you'd have deposited & spent more than $66 MILLION. So here's the question: have you ever thought, or better yet, FELT what it would be like to have that kind of money at your disposal? Didn't think so. But the point of this game, believe it or not, is not the money. It's about putting yourself in the feeling place of unlimited supply. In other words, not thinking about money and the lack of it, but rather, the abundance available to all of us. (oh yes it is!)

I'm guessing this might be a hard pill to swallow for some. But in my experience, especially of late, I've found that it's more about how you feel than it is what you're thinking. If you think about having an abundance of money, but you feel the lack of that abundance, then you're not allowing it to flow to you. Or, put another way, no matter how positively you may think about any given thing you want, if you're feeling the lack of it, then that is precisely what kind of energy is returning to you. The lack.

So, I've been playing this game now for 5 days. Already, I had one day where I didn't spend the entire amount, so when I got to the next day, there was $8,000 for me to spend. And I have to tell  you, I had to really think about how to spend that money. (I do not spend it on "bills". This is about having fun, remember?) All along the way, what I'm finding is that not only is this a really, really, REALLY fun game to play...it also elevates my spirit, it gets me out of the boring little box I sometimes trap myself in, and, most importantly, it makes me feel that feeling of no limits. It makes me stretch. It pokes at my imagination. It flat-out changes how I think about money in general.

This must be a good thing. Because, near as I can tell, the best way to get from here to there is to see it, feel it, believe it. Next thing you know, there you are! While I have not yet manifested this enormous abundance of dollars (the operative being "yet"), I have manifested other things playing similar "games". And I'm tellin' ya, it works!

If you feel this is a bit too silly for you, then you can chalk this up to one more of Camille's crazy little frenzies. Otherwise, what's the harm in playing? If you have a computer (of course you do! you're reading this!), & will take 15 or 20 minutes a day to "play", you will see for yourself just what I'm trying (perhaps in vain) to say here. I must take my leave now...I still have another $1551 to spend before the day is over!
